Before we chuck out that aged work shirt, review this.
One cunning mom in Utah is branch her husband’s button-up shirts into darling dresses for her daughters. It all started this spring, when Stephanie Miller of Salt Lake City beheld that her father was throwing divided a shirt she’d bought him final Christmas.
“I was like, ‘Why are we removing absolved of that? we bought that for you!'” Miller, 27, told TODAY Style. “He told me it shrunk. So we said, ‘Why don’t we keep this, and I’ll try to make something out of it.'”
She did — a small blue gingham dress for one of her daughters, and it’s as smart as anything you’d find in stores.
“She wore it for 3 days straight,” pronounced Miller, who has 4 children. “She wanted to nap in it.”
I refashioned Jon’s shirt (I bought it for him for Christmas yet it shrunk a initial time we cleared it😡) into a new dress for my small girl😀. we got a suspicion from @cottonandcurls and @sarahtyau who are extraordinary seamstresses. She calls it her “Elsa” dress and wants to nap in it.😂😊

The dress was a strike with her daughter and on amicable media, too, where Miller shares before-and-after photos of her designs. She’s given finished several more, all from her husband’s aged shirts.
Miller insists they’re not as tough to make as they look. Since a shirts already have hems and buttons, she keeps those sum in place, that saves time. She can make a dress in about dual hours.
My baby woke adult early this morning so we sewed in a early morning hours. She was a good competition vouchsafing me try on a dress (only 2 time😂) to cut and fit a sleeves. Once we finished her a dress dual years ago and kept wise it on her to adjust a dress, by a time we was finished she wouldn’t wear it. we motionless to not make my kids garments during that point. Now they ask me to make them dresses and never wish to take them off. It is most some-more rewarding. This shirt was her daddy’s shirt that shrunk, @letsbuyutah. #sew #refashion #refashioned #refashionista #sewing #sewingproject #diy #beforeandafter #mothermakes #oldshirt #newdress #dresses #littlegirl #littlegirldress #onehour #onehourprojets #quickneasy #sewforfun #sewfun

“We were vital in this small groundwork unit and it didn’t have good atmosphere flow,” she said. “It was only so little and we was fearful a oil paint and a smoke would impact him, so we stopped.”
I adore a demeanour of rompers yet we’ve had too many accidents station in front of a toilet since a romper couldn’t come off quick enough…and that is because we finished her a shirt and brief combo instead. we used a strange bottom hem of a dress shirt to make a bottom of a shorts and combined pockets on this one. we adore this demeanour yet it wasn’t a strike for her and she didn’t wish to wear it past a pictures, we theory we win some and lax some. 🤷♀️

She started creation pressed animals and garments from patterns, yet didn’t examination with her husband’s aged garments until this year. Now he’s happy to scour his closet for shirts she can reinvent.
Another refashion from one of @letsbuyutah’s shirts. we let her collect out a shirt she wanted and we consider this romper incited out so cute. This was my initial time creation shorts and it wasn’t as tough as we suspicion it would be. #littleromper #littleromperbabes #sew #refashion #transform #transformation #diy #red #sewing #sewingproject #diy #mothermakes #newoutfit #mensdressshirttogirlsdress #mensshirt #mensdressshirts #daddysshirt
